Rúben Oliveira

Rúben Oliveria, biologist, ecologist and science communicator. He is dedicated to bringing Science and Society closer together and promoting scientific literacy in dialogue with culture and education.

He is a founding member of Senciência and Scientific Director of FIC.A - International Science Festival.

Rúben Oliveira is a member of the National Board of the League for the Protection of Nature, responsible for communication and environmental awareness, education and training, and of the National Board of the Portuguese Ecological Society, where he coordinates the Network for Communication and Dissemination of Ecology.

He collaborates with the Center for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Change of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and coordinates the communication and dissemination of the Tropical College of the University of Lisbon.

In 2020, he was one of the 10 sub-40 personalities invited by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action to discuss projects for a sustainable way out of the crisis.
