Bee Responsible: together for pollinators

The LPN's Vale Gonçalinho Environmental Education Center (CEAVG) in Castro Verde welcomed the Bee Responsible project team for the third time.

Early in the morning, we arrived at the CEAVG. After a warm welcome, the cohesive and motivated group set to work rebuilding an old stone wall.

Although the task requires meticulous coordination between the placement of the mortar and the positioning of the stones, with the guidance of master Dário the group quickly got organized and by the end of the morning a few meters of wall were already rising from the ground. Goal achieved!

Since the project began, more than 40 meters of wall have been restored. Congratulations to everyone!

In the afternoon, under the guidance of colleague Cátia Marques, the group set off on a bird-watching trail.

Along the paths of the Vale Gonçalinho estate, accompanied by the singing of the Calandra-real (Melanocorypha calandra), we moved forward, always attentive to any movements that might appear both on the ground and in the sky.

With binoculars in hand, the participants observed wintering migratory species such as the Royal Kite (Milvus milvus) and the Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) and several flocks of Black-bellied Curlew (Pterocles orientalis) among the resident species.

Back at the CEAVG, it was time to take stock of the day, with another return to Castro Verde already marked on the calendar. Many thanks to everyone for their good mood, dedication and commitment!
